P0325 by make

Honda

Knock sensor circuit fault. Common on K24 (sensor at back of block) and J35 V6 (sensor under the intake manifold, so labour is high).

Kia

Knock sensor 1 circuit fault. On Theta II engines can be tied to bearing wear; on 2.5 Theta (K5) a software update is out.

Usual causes: damaged knock sensor wiring or connector; faulty knock sensor; engine bearing wear (Theta II); ECU knock calibration needing update

Before you clear it

Write the code down or photograph the scanner first. A code that comes straight back after clearing points to a fault that is still there. A car whose codes were cleared just before you arrived may be hiding one: the scanner's readiness monitors show "not ready" for a while after codes are cleared.

Researched by Credov from manufacturer and workshop sources. A fault code points to where a fault may be; a workshop confirms it with a diagnosis. Browse all fault codes.
