Known problems on the LDV G10 People Mover
G10 underbody, door rust
Costly if missed
2015–2023 · Body and structure
What to look for: Lie beside the van with a torch and check the underbody, sills and every door edge and drain hole for rust.
Why it matters: This rust has been reported starting within months of delivery and spreading through structural underbody and door areas, and has been the subject of a regulator court case over its scale and how it was handled.
What to look for: Check the dash for exhaust or engine lights, then drive 15 minutes at 80 km/h+ and watch for limp mode.
Why it matters: A blocked DPF or EGR valve that triggers limp mode leaves the van with greatly reduced power on the road, and letting it run on in that state makes the eventual repair, from a forced clean to a new filter, more likely.
